The 2015 preseason watch list for the Ray Guy Award (top punter in college football) has been released by the Augusta Sports Council and it is loaded with Australians.

Leading the way is the 2014 Ray Guy Award winner Tom Hackett a senior at Utah, he finished 2014 with an aveage punt of 46.7 yard with 36 inside 20s and a long of 70 yards.

In alphabetical order other Australians are:

  • Will Gleeson, Ole Miss, Sophomore – Gleeson averaged 42.9 yards per punt, which ranked 28th in the country. He also pinned 41.4 percent of his punts inside the 20-yard line.
  • Cameron Johnston, Ohio State, Junior – Not only does Johnston have a national title ring but he had a great season last year averaging a Big Ten-best 45.1 yards off 48 punts
  • Jamie Keehn, LSU, Senior – Keehn set a school record in 2014 with 3,189 punting yards, and his 44.9 yards per punt ranked second on the SEC leaderboard and third-highest in school history.
  • Alex Kinal, Wake Forest, Senior – Kinal punted 86 times for 3,436 yards on last year, an average of 40.0 yards per punt as well as pinning opponents inside the 20-yard line 23 times and 34 of his 86 punts resulted in a fair catch.

We wish all these punters the very best for the upcoming season but also the unlisted aussies who will be doing their best for their teams and might win the award.
