All 32 NFL teams are into training camp and we will not have to wait long to see some of the Australians in action, Pittsburgh will open the pre-season against Minnesota in the Hall Of Fame Game this Sunday at 8pm (Monday 10:00am AEST).

Three Australians will be in action in this game, for the Steelers incumbent Punter Brad Wing will be battling with Jordan Berry (both pictured) for the one punter position on the roster. For the Vikings, Sydney born and Stanford product David Yankey will be working hard for a starting position on the offensive line.

David Yankey normally plays Guard but with Carter Bykowski hobbled, Yankey has spent the past couple of days of training camp at left tackle. This may help show his versatility and not only secure a roster spot but a starter position as well.

Dallas Cowboy punter Tom Hornsey will take his training camp battle for the punting job at Dallas to the field on August 13th against the Chargers. Hornsey from Geelong is currently battling Chris Jones for the job who has been the full time punter for Dallas since 2013.

Jarryd Hayne will have to wait a little longer to see some action but has been getting great press from the Australian media and ok press from the local media. He did have a receiving touchdown from Colin Kaepernick on a quick out-route to the left sideline in a non contact drill, so we better all over react to that.

Hayne will have his first game against the Texans on Saturday the 15th of August.

Jesse “The Monstar” Williams is still recovering after undergoing cancer surgery that saw him lose a kidney. Williams is not taking part in training camp because he’s on the NFI (non-football injury) list but a little while back he cleared to begin working out again. We all hope it will not be long before we see The Monstar back on the field.
