After all sorts of rumours about a college football game making its way down under it has finally happened!! The first game of the American College Football 2016 season between the University of California and the University of Hawaii will be played in Sydney.

The good news was announced by NSW Tourism and Sport Minister Stuart Ayres, he of course then when on and one about how good Sydney is but I will let it go because this game is going to happen.

“The match itself should be terrific, but it’s going to be an all-American experience with the colour and movement that comes with college football,” Tourism and Sport Minister Stuart Ayres said.

I hope this is true and everyone gets into the spirit of the game starting with tailgating in the car part before the game.

The game will be Saturday the 27th of August with a kick-off time of 2pm, this will be a 9pm kick off on Friday night back in California. It is not the most traditional kickoff time for a college football game but should draw a good television audience.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on the 7th of December and start from $69 and go all the way up to $395 for the Locker Room Package.

California and Hawaii both announced the game on their twitter accounts

ANZ Stadium also put out the news of the game
