Gridiron Australia have announced on their Facebook page the men’s national team the Outback will play a one off friendly against Tahiti in July 2016.
Gridiron Australia is pleased to announce that they have accepted an invitation from the Tahitian Federation of American Football (Federation Tahitienne de Football Americain) for the Australian Outback Men’s National Team to play a friendly match in Tahiti. The proposed dates for the tour are 22-31 July 2016.
This will be the first time the two teams have played, it was also the first I heard that Tahiti played football. Gridiron Australia is seeking sanctioning from IFAF for the game but with all the problems IFAF is having I am not sure who they are asking…

According to the IFAF website (ifaf.org) Tahiti is not a member of IFAF, currently in Oceania the only members are American Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand and Australia.

Below is a taste of some football from Tahiti.
