The Gridiron Queensland season has been played an won as the Gold Coast Stingray complete what we are now dubbing the triple crown.
In an increasable weekend for the Stingrays they took out the Mens, Womens and Colts championships which is the first time in Australia this has been done. The Stingrays continued their domination of the mens competition with a 63 to 6 win over the Bayside Ravens giving the Gold Coast 9 of the last 10 Sunbowl titles.
In the womens Summerbowl the Stingrays were matched up again against the Bayside Ravens and it was a 20 to 8 win for the Gold Coast. The final match of the day was the Colts grand final which saw the Stingrays defeat the Sunshine Coast Spartans 26-6 completing the perfect day for the Stingrays.
