Gridiron Victoria Eagles

The Gridiron Victoria (GV) junior season kicked off last weekend, and GV marked the occasion by announcing via its Facebook page that the Junior Victorian State Team will tour Singapore in September.

GV is currently suspended by Gridiron Australia, and is currently not involved with National Championships. Additionally, junior players have not been invited to be a part of the National team even though the men and women have invited to try out for their respective teams. To continue a state program GV have looked internationally to provide their players with the opportunity for an outstanding experience and to represent their state.

GV President Sam Weller said “Gridiron Victoria remains passionate about and committed to representative football. In addition to this incredible experience in store for our Under 19’s program we have some exciting news coming soon regarding our women’s state team and continue to work on opportunities for our seniors.”

He went on to say “I want to thank Vice President Mark Levin for his leadership and commitment to the state program and also congratulate Head Coach Rob Smith of the 2 time defending Junior Champions Melbourne Uni on his appointment to lead our young Eagles team to Singapore.”

The Proposed Itinerary for the Singapore tour includes two matches, the first on Sunday the 25th of September and the second game on Thursday the 29th of September. You can find the full proposed itinerary here.
