UniSA Eagles took on the Port Adelaide Spartans and with the rain steadily coming down, a tight defensive matchup was expected. However, following a first quarter TD, the Eagles have managed to make big defensive stops to deny the Spartans of an equalizer taking a 7-0 lead at half time.

the game came down to a thrilling finish as the lead changed back-and-forth in the second half; both offences lifted as the rain subsided. However, it was a clinical drive, capped off with a Lewis Wyten/Olivieri connection with under 2 minutes left, which sealed the win for the Eagles.

The Hogs went into the game with the Oliers as the favourites and a steady first half performance from Adelaide University had them pulling away from the Oilers on both sides of the ball. Lead by the WR Mitchell Olive who had 2 first half touchdowns for the Hogs helping them to a 27-0 halftime lead.

A spirited second half from the Oilers gained them their first score of the season through a Tedmanson hurdle however, Adelaide University remained far too strong throughout and ran out the victors 47-7
