As we all patiently await the kickoff to the 2017 Gridiron Victoria season, some have to wait longer than others, yes I’m looking at you Division 1. I thought I would share something from the games past. The League has been alive for over 30 years with many clubs coming and going, league name changes and amalgamations.

One club that was a powerhouse in their short time were the Kew Colts, some of you may have seen them play and some may have played against them, some of you probably weren’t even born. They were the Monash Warriors of the early 90’s, everyone wanted to play for them to win Championships.

As a shy young lad who was only just beginning to get obsessed with the NFL, I had an opportunity to interview the young American Coach of the Colts for a school project I was doing on American Football. Little did anyone know back then that this young American would join the Patriots as a DB coach and participate in a Pro Bowl in 1999, a Pro Bowl I actually attended. He eventually became the Head Coach of the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns.

As I was a little shy I had my school mate interview Mangini while I tried to keep the camera still.
