This coming Saturday will see defending Champion the Western Crusaders take on the most dominant club in GV history, the Monash Warriors.

Who will win VIC BOWL XXXIV?

You can never count out a juggernaut like the Warriors to put it all together at the right time of the year. After last years shock loss to the Royals in the Semi Final, the Warriors turned the tables on them to earn yet another VIC BOWL appearance.

The Crusaders made it hard for themselves in the first half, even trailing at one stage. They finally got things rolling in the second half to defeat the Croydon Rangers and a chance to go back to back.

Two seasons ago these 2 clubs met in what was a hard hitting affair. The Warriors came out on top in the end but the fire to win it started to burn for the Crusaders. This year will be different as the Crusaders find themselves to be the dominant team and the Warriors the challenger. The Warriors had put doubt in the minds of a few people after a less than stunning 2018 regular season but here they are once again.

Crusaders QB Andrew Healy who went home, will make a return to play in this one. Without him the game could have gone either way but with is scrambling ability and strong arm I see another Championship heading out west. The Defense doesn’t really need to be spoken about as we are all well aware how good they can be.

The Warriors key will be protecting QB Dom Dearman and ensuring the running game is on fire to have any chance of a victory. They have 3 Running Backs who would start on any other team. The Defense looked to have stepped it up a notch just at the right time and won’t want to let the Crusaders score easily.

PREDICTION – WESTERN CRUSADERS 36 V MONASH WARRIORS 15

VIC BOWL MVP – CRUSADERS – DB CHRISTIAN CINEL (2 INT’S, 1 TD).

Don’t forget the JV competition will see the Croydon Rangers against the South Eastern Predators in a rematch of last season’s Championship game. Who will win JV VIC BOWL II?

These young kids are the future of GV. Get down there and support these 2 clubs.

The Predators will be looking for revenge for last Season’s loss and look the better side once again. Some big athletic kids in this team which looks good for the Predators future. They already have a strong Colts team and will look to build the men’s team from that. They will go in as favourites again but the favourite doesn’t always come out the victor.

The Croydon Rangers future looks bright. With a good number of kids playing in this JV side, they look to these kids as the future of the men’s team, which has a few players looking at possible retirement in the near future.

The Rangers, although undersized, are led on Offense by a dynamic backfield of Dylan Hellier and Joseph Nilsson. With ever evolving QB Tom Egan calling the shots they have the ability to stretch the Predators Defense. Defensively they are fast and sound with Linebacker Rory Mannion leading the charge. He has been well supported by his Defensive Line of Patrick Fleming and Aaron Kroenert.

PREDICTION – SOUTH EASTERN PREDATORS 26 V CROYDON RANGERS 22
