The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) announced earlier in the week that the 2018 u19 World Championship will be hosted in Mexico.

Jorge Orobio, President of FMFA said

[quote align=”center” color=”#999999″]’We are delighted to be able to host the IFAF World Championship, We look forward to welcoming the best young players from around the world and staging an event to be proud of.'[/quote]

Richard MacLean, President of IFAF, also provided a statement.

[quote align=”center” color=”#999999″]’Mexico have a proud football history and undoubtedly a bright future. The wonderful facilities in the country, coupled with exciting young players and the undoubted passion and knowledge of their fans makes for an exciting mix. Add in the success of the NFL games in the country and it all bodes well.'[/quote]

The u19 World Championships will be held in July 2018 and Gridiron Australia will run tryout a tryout camp in earlier December in Victoria to find some potential talent to add the squad, this was made possible thanks to Gridiron Victoria’s teams voting to rejoin Gridiron Australia effective 1 of Jan 2018.
