Less than three months after a cancerous kidney was removed, Australian defensive tackle Jesse Williams has returned to the field with the Seahawks.
Williams was activated from the non-football injury list and took part in Seattle’s practice on Thursday. It was his first action of the offseason after being diagnosed with papillary type 2 cancer in May and undergoing surgery.
“Today was the day I pretty much kept my mind the whole time after being in the hospital,” Williams said. “The first day back, that’s what was driving me. So yeah it was a big deal to get out there today.”

We are all hoping that we will see Jesse Williams on the active roster in 2015 after spending the last two seasons on IR with knee problems.
Check out a video from www.seahawks.com of Williams on the field and with the media.
