The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 2, 2017, at Rice, but it will be played in late August in Australia pending NCAA approval in January.
Stanford and Rice played back on the 27th of November with Stanford taking the win easily 41-17.
Last season the University of California Golden Bears and the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors opened the season in Sydney in what was dubbed the College Football Sydney Cup.
The game was not too much to write home about with the Goldern Bears taking down the Rainbow Warriors 51-31 in front of 61,247 fans. This was far from the biggest problem with the game, the number one problem was the fact ANZ Stadium ran out of beer by half time… It was a disgrace.
Now that Sydney have had a go at this event, I hope major problems like running out of beer will not happen again, See you all in Sydney.
