A league powerhouse against one of the newest teams. Despite missing the Vic Bowl last year the Warriors haven’t really lost a step.
This is a massive test for the Wolves and will show them whether they can mix it with the big clubs when they take on the Warriors in Ballarat.
Can the Wolves cause a major upset in week 1?

August 4, 2018 | Western Crusaders v Monash Barbarians | 2:00 pm | White Flat |
The Crusaders and Barbarians will meet for the first time in a long time in the 2nd game of a triple header in Ballarat.
Despite some player losses for the Crusaders, the Barbarians will find it hard to stop last years Champion.
Prediction – Crusaders 40 V Barbarians 8
August 4, 2018 | Ballarat Gridiron v Bendigo Dragons | 5:30 pm | White Flat |
A great way for these clubs to open the season. The Gold Fields Bowl will be played under lights. It was won for the first time by the Falcons giving them the right to host the game this year.
Last year the Falcons shocked the Dragons but this year the Dragons have added some high quality imports and the Falcons have tried to keep together the same team as last year. Expect the Bowl to be heading back into Bendigo come the final whistle.

The new boys on the block against the rebuilding former DIV 2 Champion.
History will show that the newbies will struggle to put points on the board.
Could the Sharks break the trend and score in their first ever hit out?

GAME OF THE WEEK.
Both teams will be wanting to kick of the season with a good solid win.
Croydon will have a new import to show off and the Royals will be hoping their local recruits will give them the edge.
