All teams in the NFL had to make their final roster cuts to get down to the regular season 53 man roster and we are always excited to see which aussie have made the cut.
Six Australians have earned their way onto rosters across the NFL, Australians in the NFL 2021
Jordan Mailata – Philadelphia
The former Sydney Rabbitohs under 23 rep has earned the starting left tackle spot for the Eagles after beating out former first-round pick Andrew Dillard for the role.
Going into the final season of his initial 4 year deal signed back in 2018 after he was drafted in the seventh round. Mailata now has the opportunity to play his way into a big pay day with a solid 2021 campaign.
Being only 24 years old Mailata is entering into his prime earning and players years so becoming a free agent at the end of the season is perfect timing.
Adam Gotsis – Jacksonville
The 29 year old from Melbourne is going into his second season with the Jacksonville Jaguars and 6th season in the NFL on a one year deal.
Gotsis played all 16 games for the Jags last season after having knee surgery in the offseason and is coming off a 37 tackle season which one shy of a career best.
A healthy off season will give Gotsis the opportunity to for a career best season in 2021.
Arryn Siposs – Philadelphia
The former St Kilda Saint in the AFL who turned his attention to punting has made it to the NFL. Siposs played college football at Auburn and was signed as an undrafted free agent by Detroit but could not make the roster and spent time on the Lions practices squad.
Having signed with the Eagles in the 2021 off season to a futures/reserves contract, previous punter Cam Johnston took a lucrative deal with the Texans so the position was there for Siposs.
Siposs had a good pre-season with the Eagles to lock in his spot on the 53man roster.
Mitch Wishnowsky – San Francisco
Originally from Perth and played his college football at the university of Utah Wishnowsky is going into his 3rd season with the 49ers.
San Francisco made no surprises with its specials returning all three including Wishnowsky. He has not missed a game since entering the NFL in 2019 and is in the top half for all statistical categories for punters.
Michael Dickson – Seattle
Dickson signed a 4 year $14.7 million contract extension with Seattle in June this year making him a lock to be the Seahawks punter for the next few seasons at least.
Dickson was a 1st team all pro in his rookie season in 2018 and he has gone from strength to strength. He has never missed a game since entering the NFL and is coming off a career high 78 punts for the Seahawks.
Cameron Johnston – Houston
Johnston signed a 3 year, $8 million contract with the Houston Texans, including a $1 million signing bonus and $3million in guaranteed monies.
After spending his first three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles Johnston received a big payday from the Texans to make him their punter for the next few seasons.
The Texans are expect to be one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2021 so Johnston is expect to get plenty of work this season.
Unfortunately, veteran punter Jordan Berry was cut by the Pittsburg Steelers but he had a good offseason and is a know commodity and has a great chance to sign on with another NFL team.
Defensive Lineman Matt Leo who had been on the Philadelphia Eagles on an International Player Pathway program contract from 2020 was released when the Eagles cut down to 53 players.
