Jamie Keehn LSU

The Charlotte Observer is reporting that former LSU punter Jamie Keehn will be attending the Carolina Panthers rookie camp on Friday and Saturday in Charlotte.

The Panthers are looking for a replacement for Brad Nortman, who signed a four-year, $8.8 million contract with Jacksonville in March.

There will be four punters at the camp, the two already on the Panthers roster are Swayze Waters and Michael Palardy. Invited punters on tryout contracts are former Florida State punter Cason Beatty and Keehn.

With four punters in rookie camp it will be an up hill battle for Keehn to make the roster but he will be given his chance. Keehn went through the Pro Kick Australia academy headed up by Nathan Chapman who spoke to the SEN NFL Podcast also talked about Keenhn being given the opportunity to try out.

Chapman also spoke about the battle between Lachlan Edwards and Tom Hackett who both were Pro Kick Australia guys.

It will be an interesting few weeks as NFL team hold their rookie mini camps to see how all the Australian’s on NFL roster perform.
