A new touch football league called the Touch Gridiron Leauge (TGL) will kick off in January in Melbourne. The competition is open to ages 16+ for both male and female participants, the TGL aim to provide a fun, social, safe and competitive environment for all to enjoy!
Games are played at the new Ron Barassi Snr Park at Docklands. Ron Barassi Snr Park is a new park and recreational space that opened on 10 October 2015 in north-west Docklands.
The park was a collaborative project which was funded by the Victoria Government, constructed by Places Victoria and owned and operated by the City of Melbourne.
The lawn space is brand new with a playground for kids, BBq’s and plenty of space to hang out and enjoy the summer weather (hopefully).
Games are played on Monday nights from 5.30pm-8.30pm. The 2017 season will kick off on January 16th and season will run through until March the 13th.
The game has been very simplified to promote a game for anyone to play, there have been a number of flag competitions run in Melbourne before but this one appears to be the best organised in a central location.
