Gridiron Australia announced today that Craig Wilson will lead the Men’s Outback into the 2023 IFAF World Cup is due to be held in Wollongong after the cancellation of the 2019 World Cup.
Coach Wilson is fresh of the back of a three-peat with his local club the Western Crusaders who won the 2017, ’18 & ’19 Vic Bowls.
He was also due to lead the Victorian Eagles into the 2020 National Championships in May which has been unfortunately postponed due to COVID-19.

Outback Men’s Head Coaching Announcement Gridiron Australia is pleased to announce the successful appointment of the 2023 Outback Men’s Head Coach Craig Wilson.
Craig has a long history of collaboration and commitment to the growing the game having been involved as a player since 1992, a life member of Monash Warriors (Vic), Curtin Saints (WA) and Gridiron Victoria as well as participating in numerous Outback programs both as a player and coach.

Craig devotes a high level of time and energy into his personal development from a coaching perspective, attending many seminars and conferences both here and in the US, we are sure Craig will bring new energy to building the Outback program across all member states players and coaches.
The 2023 IFAF World Cup is due to be held in Wollongong, AUS at this time, however with the current COVID -19 restrictions and ongoing pandemic there is no update as yet to tournament details.
The Australian Outback team is ranked 5th in the World after the last tournament held in 2015.
