Arryn Siposs

The Eagles signed Australian punter Arryn Siposs to Reserve/Futures contracts on Wednesday.

Siposs was a rookie free agent in 2020 out of Auburn. He signed with the Detroit Lions, but lost the Training Camp battle to Pro Bowl punter Jack Fox. He spent most of his rookie season on the Lions’ practice squad.

Siposs played footy for the Saints in the AFL from 2011 to 2015 but he was delisted after three shoulder reconstructions which led to him to turn his attention to American football.

The signing of Siposs is an eyebrow raising one for fans of Australian players when you consider Cameron Johnston another Australia punter was the Eagles punter from 2018 to last season.

Johnston signed a one year deal for the 2020 season at $750,000 and is now a free agent, it will be interesting to see if Johnston is resigned by the Eagles to battle for the 2021 job.

We will have to watch this space.
