Joel Whitford

If you keep an eye on Prokick Australia‘s Facebook feed you will see the continued line of Australian’s headed to the USA to be punters.

In the past few weeks there have been a number of players commit to big time schools starting with Joel Whitford who is off to the University of Washington on scholarship from January 2017. From Victoria, Whitford was attending Santa Barbara City College which is a community college about 2 hours north of LA and will transfer to Washington to continue to study and play football.

The University of Washington plays in the Pac-12 with Head Coach Chris Petersen at the helm has continued to improve their play under his leadership since arriving in December 2013.

Jack Sheldon from Echuca, Victoria is also headed to the top flight of college football announcing he will be joining Central Michigan University. The Chippewas play in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference and are lead by head coach John Bonamego.

Sydneysider Trent Schneider will start his College career at Santa Barbara which has in the past hosted the likes of Tim Gleeson (Rutgers), Owen Hoolihan (Prarie View AM), Mitchell Wishnowsky (Utah) and Joel Whitford (mentioned above). Prokick Australia clearly have a great relationship with Santa Barbara and many Australians have used it as their launching platform to transfer to FBS schools.

The list of players who have come through the Prokick Australia program is impressive and is a true indication of how well Nathan Chapman and John Smith get players ready and the releationships they have in college football.

I am sure we will be seeing many more players for many more years head to the US to play football.
